Why Houston is a practical base for Gulf supply
Houston sits on a deepwater ship channel with bulk industry around it. GulfGran is based there and does not claim to own a terminal.

Houston is a materials city because the water is deep and the industry is already on the bank. The Houston Ship Channel connects the Gulf to a long run of private terminals, plants, and storage. Rail and highway sit behind those berths. For a bulk mineral that has to change from a ship into a pile, that geography is the point.
GulfGran Materials is based in Houston for that reason. Conversations about import supply are shorter when the people who discharge cargo, and the people who grind or blend cementitious materials, are in the same region. Proximity is not ownership. We do not operate a terminal on the channel, we do not own a warehouse, and we do not have a ship. The berth on a given shipment is the one the receiver nominates, on the terms that terminal actually offers.
It is also the wrong city to decorate with invented addresses. A street number will be published when the company has one to publish. Until then, “Houston, Texas” is the true location line, and the inquiry form is the true front door. A fake suite number would be easier to put in a footer and worse as a business practice.
The channel is shared by many cargoes. Container ships, tankers, and bulk carriers use the same waterway and not the same berths. A photograph of cranes is not evidence of a slag terminal. When this site shows a harbor, the caption says it is representative. The operational question is narrower: can the nominated berth take the ship, the gear, and the granule, and can the plant take the pile at the rate the ship needs to sail.
Hurricane season, channel traffic, and a slow discharge are ordinary risks of this coast. They belong in laytime and in a contingency, not in a slogan about reliability. Reliability, for a trading company, is a sequence that was agreed before the ship was fixed: specification, receiver, terminal, freight, and documents.
