How buyers qualify a bulk materials supplier
Qualification is origin, a sample, a certificate, and a receiver who has agreed. A website claim is not a substitute for that file.

A bulk supplier is qualified by a file, not by an adjective. The file has four parts: where the material comes from, what a recent lot looks like on paper, what a sample does in the receiver’s own test, and whether the commercial terms match the physical ones.
Origin comes first for granulated slag. The question is whether the lot is blast-furnace slag that was water-quenched, and whether you can name the plant. A trader who cannot name the furnace is asking you to buy a story. GulfGran asks for that name in the private file even when the public site does not list sources. Publishing a supplier as if they were a customer, or a customer as if a contract existed, would be a different kind of fiction.
The certificate comes second, and it should be more than one lot if the buyer is serious. Consistency is the risk. A single excellent sheet can sit next to a month of ordinary production. Ask which results are supplier-reported and which came from an independent laboratory. Methods matter as much as the digits.
The sample comes third, on the receiver’s protocol. Some mills want a jar. Some want a larger parcel and a grind. The protocol should say mass, packaging, the tests, and what “approved” means in writing. Approval is not a feeling after a plant tour. GulfGran can coordinate a sample when the producer will issue one. We do not declare the sample passed.
Commercial terms come last, and only after the technical gate is at least conditional. Quantity, delivery basis, payment, and what happens if moisture or chemistry miss the window. Fixing a ship before the receiver has seen the material is how a trading company ends up owning a problem it cannot grind. We would rather align the specification and the receiving plan before a vessel is committed.

If you are the buyer, send the window and the sample rule with the inquiry. If you are the supplier, send origin and the documents you can actually produce. “Material available” is not a file.
