Bulk GBFS supply into the U.S. Gulf

Raw granulated blast furnace slag travels as a dry-bulk mineral, in a ship’s hold, not in containers and not in bags. That single fact decides the rest of the logistics. You need a load berth that can put granules on a ship, a discharge berth that can take them off, and a receiver who can store them before they are dried and ground.

The parcel is whatever that chain can actually accept. A large theoretical cargo is useless if the mill’s pile, the berth’s draft, or the discharge rate cannot absorb it. GulfGran does not publish a standing vessel size or a freight tariff. Those are outputs of a named load port, a named discharge terminal, a laycan, and a live freight discussion. Putting a number on a website would pretend the market had stopped moving.

Coordination, for us, means lining the commercial terms up with the physical ones. Quantity and tolerance, loading and discharge rates, who supplies the cranes or grabs, and what happens if the ship waits. Moisture belongs in that list because it changes weight and because a wet cargo argues with the people who clean the hold. None of this requires us to own the ship. Owners, brokers, and terminals do the work they are licensed and equipped to do. We arrange the path and the papers.

Documents move with the cargo: invoice, bill of lading, weight, origin when it is issued, the lot certificate, and a safety data sheet when the producer has one. Classification for customs is confirmed with a licensed broker for that entry. Granulated slag from iron or steel making is commonly entered under HTS heading 2618. Additional duties depend on origin and on the measures in force that day. We do not describe any origin as duty-free, and we do not print a rate.

The U.S. Gulf is the focus because processors and bulk terminals are already on this coast, with Houston as the company’s base. Which terminal is used is nominated with the receiver.
